Karl Zirolli, CFP®, MS, AIF®


Karl J. Zirolli has more than 25 years of professional experience in the areas of financial planning and wealth management.  Karl works with business owners, professionals, executives, and retirees.  He is a principal in Summit Planning Group, LLC and Summit Asset Management, LLC and provides his clients comprehensive financial planning, investment advisory and corporate retirement plan services. 


Karl is a graduate of the University of Connecticut where he majored in Business Administration. He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) professional and Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designee and has a Master's of Science degree in Personal Financial Planning. Karl is also a securities registered representative with Series 7, 22, 63 and 65 registrations through Lincoln Financial Securities Corporation and is licensed in Connecticut and several other states for life and health insurance.

Karl earned his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation in 1987 and must meet the CFP Board's ongoing competency requirements of continuing education (CE) and by adhering to CFP Board's Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility (Code of Ethics ) and Financial Planning Practice Standards ( Practice Standards ), CFP® certificants demonstrate to the public that they are individuals who have voluntarily agreed to meet high standards of professionalism in a changing financial world. Certificants' compliance with CFP Board's certification standards helps to ensure the integrity of the CFP® certification marks for the benefit of the public.

As an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designee, Karl has a thorough understanding of the fiduciary standard of care and has a full understanding of how to use those processes to help individuals and families achieve their investment goals in a responsible and accountable manner.  As a designee, he is also trained to evaluate the fiduciary practices of investment stewards such as 401(k) and defined benefit plan sponsors and those responsible for managing endowment and foundation assets.


Karl's recognized expertise has resulted in a three-year winner and publication in Connecticut Magazine as a Five Star Wealth Manager, a select group who provide quality services based on objective eligibility and evaluation criteria. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA). Karl has been quoted by Financial Planning Magazine and has presented continuing education seminars to Certified Public Accountants.

Karl has been active in raising funds for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. For the past 7 years he has participated in the Pan-Massachusetts Challenge (PMC) a two day bike-a thon and the nation's most successful athletic fund raising event. Karl has personally raised over $56,000 and his team over $300,000 to help improve the lives of those suffering from cancer. He resides in Glastonbury with his wife Jeanne.
