Jay is a Partner at Summit Planning Group, bringing more than 30 years of professional experience in the areas of financial planning and wealth management. He works extensively with business owners, executives, and financially independent retirees with a special focus on retirement and IRA distribution planning. Known for his thoughtful, relationship-driven approach, Jay treats clients like family, prioritizing trust, clarity, and genuine partnership. He takes the time to listen and understand each of his clients' goals, concerns, and values to create plans tailored to what matters most.

Jay is a graduate of Bentley University with a bachelor's degree in Finance. He has earned the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation (2015). As a Certified Financial Planner™, Jay must meet the CFP Board's ongoing competency requirements of continuing education and adhere to the CFP Board's Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility and Financial Planning Practice Standards. These standards demonstrate to the public that CFP® certificants are individuals who have voluntarily agreed to meet high standards of professionalism in financial planning. Certificant's compliance with the CFP Board's certification standards helps maintain the integrity of the CFP® certification marks for the benefit of the public.

Jay is securities licensed with the Series 6, 7, 63, and 65 licenses, held with LPL Financial, as well as insurance licenses from several states. He is also Partnership Certified for Long Term Care by the State of Connecticut.

Jay has been a monthly contributor and writer in a Connecticut-based magazine on various financial planning matters. Jay has been quoted in Forbes Magazine and he is a member of the Connecticut Financial Planning Association (FPA).

Committed to a high level of ethics in his profession and for other professional advisors, Jay is a past member of the grievance/ethics panel for the Ansonia/Milford Judicial District, having been appointed by the Judges of the Superior Court in Connecticut.

Jay is actively involved in the community. Since 1996, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Annual Milford Oyster Festival, an all-volunteer non-profit organization that plans and coordinates the Milford Oyster Festival. He has served in many capacities including President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Fundraising Chairperson.

Jay is an active member in his church and currently serves on the Board of the Finance Committee of the Parish Blood Catholic Parish in Milford. Within his neighborhood, Jay is the past Chairman of the Point Beach Improvement Association. He also actively volunteers with St. Mary School, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and Boys & Girls Club of Milford.

Jay is a lifelong Milford resident where he lives with his wife and their two children. Outside of his office, Jay is an avid concertgoer with an extensive guitar pick collection. His love of cooking provides the opportunity to gather with friends and family as often as possible.
