David has been in the financial planning industry for 50 years. His career began in a three-year management training program with Connecticut General in 1974. Since that time has focused solely on complex financial needs of business owners and high net worth individuals.

David is a co-founding partner of Summit Planning Group, LLC which has served aforementioned clientele for over thirty years. He also co-founded Partners-for-Partners, LLC, a planning firm that was a joint venture with Citibank, NA. This company provided financial planning services to the partners of major law firms.

EDUCATION

In 1970 David graduated first in his class from the Salisbury School and is still active with Salisbury as a class agent. David is a graduate of Trinity where he received his BA in 1974.

In 1984 he successfully completed a course of studies in advance business planning through the American College and attained a certificate in Business Tax Planning. That same year, he was admitted to the International Association of Financial Planners and served as an officer of the Connecticut Chapter for four years.

David holds his FINRA sponsored Series 6, 22, 63, 65 securities licenses and is licensed in multiple states for life and health insurance.

AFFILIATIONS & COMMUNITY

A 61-year resident of Guilford, CT David recently moved to Madison, CT. with his beloved wife Holly. With three grown children, his days of coaching soccer and little league may be over, but for the past 10 years he has stayed involved with the youth in his community through Guilford Youth Mentoring.

Over the years David served at multiple times on the Board of the Sachem’s Head Association, and was elected to their zoning board during a contentious time when multi-generation cottages were being razed and substantially enlarged.

In 2017 David was appointed to a 3-year term as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Guilford’s First Church which has ministered to the needs of his community since 1643. He has also served a 2-year term as co-chair of First Church’s Finance Committee and Stewardship Committee.

In 2025 David and his wife Holly celebrated their 50 th wedding anniversary. Their sons – David, Matthew, and Adam live in Maine, Darien, and New York City respectively.
