
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Brian V. Onofrio has more than 25 years of professional experience in the areas of financial planning and wealth management. Brian works with business owners, professionals, executives, and retirees. He is a founding partner of Summit Planning Group, LLC and Summit Asset Management, LLC and provides his clients comprehensive financial planning, investment advisory and corporate retirement plan services.
EDUCATION
Brian is a graduate of Bentley University with degrees in business and accounting. He earned a Certified Public Accountant and Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation. He is also a Registered Representative of Lincoln Financial Securities and has successfully completed the FINRA sponsored Series 7, 22, 24,26,39,63 and 65 examinations.
As an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®), Brian has a thorough understanding of the fiduciary standard of care and has a full understanding of how to use those processes to help individuals and families achieve their investment goals in a responsible and accountable manner. As a designee, he is also trained to evaluate the fiduciary practices of investment stewards such as 401(k) and defined benefit plan sponsors and those responsible for managing endowment and foundation assets.
AFFILIATIONS & COMMUNITY
Brian's recognized expertise has resulted in a four-year winner and publication in Connecticut Magazine as a Five Star Wealth Manager, a select group who provide quality services based on objective eligibility and evaluation criteria. He has sponsored and presented continuing education seminars to Certified Public Accountants as well as other professionals.
Brian is active in non-profit organizations. He is actively involved with youth sports and is on the Board of Director of an organization with over 5,000 members. He resides in Madison, CT with his wife Jacqueline.
